In this day and age, sometimes we forget to "stop and smell the roses". Thus, a personal social experiment begins...little tokens of love, to me...from me...because if/when you don't put yourself first with the right amount of love, how can one ever give themselves fully and their love to others? Welcome to love me "do's" - a journey and exploration into loving one self completely and living life to the fullest...every single day.

Love Token 105: Beauty Icons
I love these modern day true blue beauties.
They are true blue because they have natural beauty that the glamour and spotlight has heightened to a jaw dropping incredible level.
As much as inner beauty is paramount, they definitely inspire me on the outward beauty & style level.
So F-U-N.
Enjoy!

Cut & Paste Tuesdays
When I was a very little girl, every night after my father read to me I would sit on my window ledge and think of all the magic and wonder the world could offer me.
I loved this time, it peaked my imagination for days/weeks to come and assured me that my journey was just getting started and the unknown would be an exciting whirlwind adventure of my choice.
Now looking back in hindsight, this "huge bay window" I thought I had was just a regular window, and because I was soooo tiny I could fit on the ledge, my huge room was also the size of a small walk-in closet, but I LOVED IT, kids do not notice those things.
Looking up into the sky is still a favourite past-time, day or night it lets my mind drift and soar to parts that the normal day does not usually offer.
I came across this photo yesterday and it reminded me of my nightly window gazing ritual and it made me smile.
I love dusting off old archived memories.
Another must for my future house, as for the view - well... hopeful but not required ;)

Love Token 104: Sun, Surf, Yoga, Breathe, Release, Take In
Sometimes I read JM and TP's blog and it is like they pull the very thoughts out of my head and beautifully translate them onto paper via the written word or imagery.
Great couple, great essence just GREAT
As the weather warms up on the lower island, the beauty unfolds to a heightened level.
It encompasses mine and the hub's loves all in one.
Sun, Beach, Yoga, Waves, Quality of Life, Being Present, Soaking it All In.
The following excerpt and image sum it up all up
Tristan Prettyman
I hope we all take in this summer, absorb, injest and rejuvinate the aweso-maziness of this great world we live in and the portion of it we are lucky enough to call our home.
I know this summer to-do list is something I would write!
Happy Monday

I hope we all take in this summer, absorb, injest and rejuvinate the aweso-maziness of this great world we live in and the portion of it we are lucky enough to call our home.
I know this summer to-do list is something I would write!
Sometimes I pinch myself to make sure this isn't a dream being surrounded by the beauty of it all, and I am happy to say I embrace the pain of the pinch, for I know this much is true and real.

There is Beauty in the Breakdown
"There is beauty in the breakdown.
The experience is shared by many across the world
The feeling of love and loss
There is beauty in the breakdown, it will enlighten, release those bricks of self doubt on your shoulders and instil comfort.
The breakdown creates a breakthrough
To take in the experience, grow and appreciate the love shared whether long, short, healthy or toxic, there is a lesson.
To see that the breakdown while a solitude experience is alongside many other
It becomes relatable, curable and forgivable and when enough time passes understandable
You will nurture your heart and tell it that while that heartbreak hurt and over-consumed you with grief and pain there are many still waiting to cross your path.
Maybe today, maybe tomorrow or ten months from now.
To take the chance and tell your heart to expose itself once again is the vulnerability that will require strength.
It will steady you, sharpen your perception and in the end fill your heart back up
We crash and collide in this world, with much love, laughter and yet much strife and rejection
Compatibility isn’t a one stop shop, you will be compatible with many, you will love with many, but you will be compatible and in love with a few lucky ones.
Few that may stick around forever, or just for a little while, there is a reason for each that contributes to the story in your life.
And while you are in the midst of the storm, take solice in the fact...
there is beauty in the breakdown.
Your loved ones will help you put the pieces of your heart back together, first with band aids, then with stitches of love, until the pain melds into a force that was never there before.
Always release and never bottle in, always remember that this too shall pass and always remember
there is beauty in the breakdown."

Love Token 102: For Now We Are Young
"You know, I do believe in magic.
I was born and raised in a magic time, in a magic town, among magicians.
Oh, most everybody else didn’t realize we lived in that web of magic, connected by silver filaments of chance and circumstance.
But I knew it all along.
When I was twelve years old, the world was my magic lantern, and by its green spirit glow
I saw the past, the present and into the future.
You probably did too; you just don’t recall it.
See, this is my opinion: we all start out knowing magic.
We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us.
We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds and see our destiny in grains of sand.
But then we get the magic educated right out of our souls.
We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out.
We get put on the straight and narrow and told to be responsible.
Told to act our age. Told to grow up, for God’s sake.
And you know why we were told that?
Because the people doing the telling were afraid of our wildness and youth, and because the magic we knew made them ashamed and sad of what they’d allowed to wither in themselves.
After you go so far away from it, though, you can’t really get it back.
You can have seconds of it. Just seconds of knowing and remembering.
When people get weepy at movies, it’s because in that dark theater the golden pool of magic is touched, just briefly.
Then they come out into the hard sun of logic and reason again and it dries up, and they’re left feeling a little heartsad and not knowing why.
When a song stirs a memory, when motes of dust turning in a shaft of light takes your attention from the world, when you listen to a train passing on a track at night in the distance and wonder where it might be going, you step beyond who you are and where you are.
For the briefest of instants, you have stepped into the magic realm.
That’s what I believe.
The truth of life is that every year we get farther away from the essence that is born within us. We get shouldered with burdens, some of them good, some of them not so good.
Things happen to us.
Loved ones die.
People get in wrecks and get crippled.
People lose their way, for one reason or another.
It’s not hard to do, in this world of crazy mazes.
Life itself does its best to take that memory of magic away from us.
You don’t know it’s happening until one day you feel you’ve lost something but you’re not sure what it is.
It’s like smiling at a pretty girl and she calls you “sir.” It just happens.
These memories of who I was and where I lived are important to me.
They make up a large part of who I’m going to be when my journey winds down.
I need the memory of magic if I am ever going to conjure magic again.
I need to know and remember, and I want to tell you."

It is no surprise that I have had a long love affair with the sun, so much so that it is forever inked on my body (way before it became "that type of tattoo").
